Newton Labs announces the formation of an Inspection
Applications Group to develop and supply machine
vision, inspection tools and automation to the power
generation industry.
Seattle, WA April 26, 2007- Newton Research Labs,
Inc., a Seattle based manufacturer of machine vision,
robotics and optical automation, today announced the
formation of an Inspection Applications Group
specifically designed to service the power generation
industry - both nuclear and non-nuclear. This group
will be focused on introducing to power generation
recent technological innovations developed for other
industries and not yet available in the power
generation industry.
“This is a very exciting prospect for me and the
group,” stated Mike Trask, Sales Manager of the
Inspection Applications Group. “With Newton’s
outstanding technology, its past expertise in
supplying machine vision to the steam generator
industry and this new group’s many years of experience
in the power industry, we should be able to offer the
industry exciting new products and superb customer
service,” he went on to add.
Over
the last few years a considerable amount of new
equipment, processes and techniques with machine
vision as the enabling technology has been introduced
into many industries. Currently, not all of these
technological innovations have been made available to
the power generation industry. The Inspection
Applications Group will be specifically focused on
supporting this industry and the evolving nuclear
renaissance by introducing some of these new products
and processes.
“While we have been supplying the steam generator
industry for many years with machine vision for
Independent Position Verification through Zetec,
facilities security products through Newton Security
and other products as an OEM supplier, this new group
will now be directly servicing the power generation
industry,” stated John W. Bramblet, President and CEO
of Newton Labs. “We believe that the combination of
Newton’s technology with these extraordinarily
experienced industry personnel and superior customer
service will make for a very successful contribution
to the industry,” he added.
