Newton Labs was founded in 1992 by members of its current management team to exploit the high speed color machine vision technology developed for a robotics project at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

That original technology has grown today into a complete line of high performance vision, optical automation and robotics products servicing many different industries. Newton Labs has over 15,000 installations world wide.

Academic/Research Division

Newton Labs Academic/Research Division manufactures machine vision (including the original Cognachrome 2000 which today remains the most widely used color vision system by researchers), research robots (including the company's award winning soccer playing robots), and software products for the research community.
